Acting on a complaint by local residents, Forest Protections Officials, raided the Pahalgam Gold Course on August 10, 2011 and recovered two green pine trees that were cut down by the unidentified officials inside the Golf Course and buried underground to cover the crime. It took many men and an earthmover that worked for hours to recover the green pines. The Golf Course comes under the Purview of Pahalgam Development Authority. Felling green pine trees is a crime in Jammu and Kashmir and official permission is mandatory for felling dried pines.
