Nov 28, 2006: Women burn dried up Chinar (Platinus orientalis) leaves to prepare charcoal in Srinagar, summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir. Come winters and there is huge demand for charcoal in the entire Kashmir valley, owing to its use in Kangri or the traditional firepot, which is the primary source of heating equipment for the locals. / Altaf Zargar
Nov 28, 2006: Daughters of Abdul Rouf, Associate editor of urdu language newspaper "Srinagar News", 11 year old Rafia and 10 year old Rabia sit in a dimly lit room of their uncle, while waiting for their parents to return. Rouf along with his wife was arrested ten days ago by Kashmir police's Special Operation Group (SOG) for unknown reasons, and till date no details are being revealed regarding the matter.
