Two troopers injured in Kashmir

Two paramilitary troopers were injured in Srinagar when suspected militants fired at them in the busy Lal chowk area here today.

Initial reports said two pistol borne men shot at two paramilitary troopers of Central Reserve Police Force posted in Koker Bazar area of Lal chowk in the summer capital Srinagar.

The injured troopers have been removed to SMHS hospital in Srinagar and the condition of the both is critical, CRFP PRO Vishal Kandwal said.

The incident caused panic among the people as bypassers fled from the scence and shopkeepers downed their shutters.

Police and paramilitary forces have cordoned off the area to search for the shooters.
