3 violations since border cease fire: India

New Delhi March 08, 2007 (Kashmir Newz Desk) :

The ceasefire declared on the Indo-Pak border and the Line of Control in November, 2003 has been upheld except for some minor aberrations, Indian Defence Minister A K Antony informed the Parliament today.

No incident of shelling has been reported on the LoC and Indo-Pak international border after declaration of ceasefire.

Antony claimed that three instances of 'violations by Pak Rangers' on international border, on 15th August, 2006, 12th Sep 2006 and 22nd October 2006 have been reported so far .

The violations he said were in Jammu and Rajasthan areas.

"Protest notes on all the above cases were lodged with Pak Rangers and the matter was also taken up during Indo-Pak Bi-Annual meeting held from 14th to 17th February 2007 at Jalandhar (Punjab)" Antony said.
